Fort Wayne is a city in Allen County, Indiana. It is the second largest city in the state with a current estimated population of 256,496. Fort Wayne was built by the United States Army in 1794 after winning battles fought against the Miami Tribe that inhabited the area. The Fort was named after General Anthony Wayne who led troops to victory in the battle against the Miami Tribe.
