IP Camera Factory Reset Instructions

Here are the instructions on how to reset your GeoVision IP camera to factory default settings. Each model of camera has a specific way to do it:

VD Series:

  • Unplug the power cable and the network cable.
  • Unscrew the camera’s top cover.
  • Press and hold down the Default button.
  • Power on the camera using a power supply or PoE cable, continue to hold down the Default button for 35 seconds.
  • Allow camera 30 seconds to boot up.



  • FD Series:

  • Unplug the power cable and the network cable.
  • Unscrew the camera’s top cover.
  • Press and hold down the Default button.
  • Power on the camera using a power supply or PoE cable, continue to hold down the Default button for 35 seconds.
  • Allow camera 30 seconds to boot up.
  • GV-FE110/ 420/ 520
  • Unplug the power cable and the network cable.
  • Remove the cover by unscrewing three screws indicated below.
  • Press and hold down the Default button using a sharp object such as a paper clip.
  • Power on the camera using a power supply or PoE cable, continue to hold down the Default button.
  • Release the Default button when the network status LED light turns off.
  • Allow camera 30 seconds to boot up.
  • BL Series:

  • Unplug the power cable and the network cable.
  • Loosen the front camera cover and remove the silica gel bag.
  • Unscrew the fixing screw and pull out the camera module slightly .
  • Press and hold down the Default button.
  • Power on the camera using a power supply or PoE cable, continue to hold down the Default button for 50 seconds.
  • Release default button.
  • Allow camera 30 seconds to boot up.
  • Push the camera module back slightly and fasten the fixing screw.
  • Replace a new silica gel bag and fasten the front camera cover.
  • MFD Series:

    GV-MFD110
  • Unplug the PoE cable.
  • Unscrew the camera’s top cover.
  • Press and hold the down Default button.
  • Power on the camera using the PoE cable. Wait until the network status LED turns off. This will take about 40 seconds.
  • Release default button.
  • Allow camera 30 seconds to boot up.
  • GV-MFD120 / 130 / 220 / 320 / 520
  • Unplug the power cable and the network cable.
  • Unscrew the camera’s top cover.
  • Press and hold the down Default button.
  • Power on the camera using a power supply or PoE cable. Wait until the Link and ACT LEDs turn off. This will take about 20 seconds.
  • Release default button.
  • Allow camera 30 seconds to boot up.

  • BX Series:

    GV-BX110D
  • Unplug the power cable and the network cable.
  • Press and hold down the Default button on the back panel of the camera.
  • Power on the camera using a power supply or PoE cable.
  • Wait until the status LED on the front panel of the camera turns off then turns red again. This will take about 10 seconds.
  • Release default button.
  • Allow camera 30 seconds to boot up.
  • GV-BX120D / 130D Series / 220D Series / 320D Series / 520D-0
  • Unplug the power cable and the network cable.
  • Press and hold down the Default button on the back panel of the camera.
  • Power on the camera using a power supply or PoE cable.
  • Wait until the status LED on the front panel of the camera turns on then off twice. This will take about 30 seconds.
  • Release default button.
  • Allow camera 30 seconds to boot up.
